Once you make contact with BLG Solar Solutions by phone or through our website you will be directed to one of our solar consultants to set an appointment for a home visit or at one of our office locations. Contact Us
2. Appointment
During your appointment you will fill out your lease or purchase option agreement, and your consultant will answer any of your questions and address any concerns that you may have regarding solar. The only thing that we require you to have available during the appointment is a copy of your electricity bill.
3. Site assessment
One of our shade engineers will come out to your home to measure the roof and check the condition. During this step we will also determine where the panels will go on your home to capture the most sunlight and how many panels will fit on the roof to give you the most savings.
4. Permitting
Once your home passes the site assessment a permit needs to be pulled for your home so we can apply for your net meter and install panels on your residence. The permitting process takes 1-2 weeks.
5. Net metering
BLG Solar Solutions will handle all of your paperwork to get your current meter switched over to net metering. To speed up the process we ask that you have an electricity bill ready during your appointment. It takes between 6-8 weeks to receive you net meter.
6. Installation
You will receive a call letting you know when your home will be installed. A team of trained and licensed installers will install your solar array within 4-8 hours weather permitting. You do not need to be home during this phase of the process. Click to view the installation process.
7. Electrical work
During this step you may need to be home depending on where your electrical work will be wired. The installations manager will give you a call to let you know the day and time that this will be done so you can schedule accordingly.
8. Quality control
After your solar array has been installed and connected we will conduct a full inspection of the system making sure it meets all the standards required by the state.
9. Inspection
An electrical & building inspection will be done by the parish are a third party, and the results of the inspections are then submitted to the parish to approve the system.
The entire process can take 8 to 10 weeks from start to finish.
